On being different

 

This is an add for a book by Prof Youngme Moon. It is on my buying list.

The topic is really important. It is the holy grail for marketing. It is the cornerstone of self-acceptance. It is the bellwether for success in life and in business.

Do you tolerate differences, or do you not brook any dissent?

Do you sacrifice originality at the altar of co-operation?

Are you comfortable working with someone who is the opposite of you?

Are you being different for the sake of being differnt, or are you authentic?

It is worth remembering that our DEFAULT position is one of difference. And then life happens and we are hounded into conformity and compliance.

The question is: at what price?
